ADAM VOLODER POSTGAME VIDEO
SEASIDE, Calif. — Sophomore
Adam Voloder (Sydney, Australia) recorded a natural brace before the season was 15 minutes old to lead the Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team to a 3–2 win over visiting Notre Dame de Namur Thursday afternoon at the Otter Sports Complex. It was the 2016 season opener for both teams.
Despite Voloder's big day, the Otters needed a 77th minute goal from Oxnard College transfer
Osvaldo Espinoza to secure the spoils after NDNU rallied for a pair to tie it in the second half.
Andrew Garcia (Sacramento/San Jose State) made the start in goal and made six saves to earn his first collegiate victory.
THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN… Andrew Garcia saved a shot off the foot of NDNU's Ruben Sanabia in the 83rd minute. It was the last shot the Argonauts would take in the match.
THAT WAS FAST… It took just two minutes for the Otters to regain the lead after Esteban Beruman tied it at 2–2 with his 75th minute goal.
Osvaldo Espinoza tapped home the match–winner from close range following a nice build up from
Duce Bell and
Jovani Delacruz.
THEY'VE GOT NEXT… The Otters head to the Central Valley to face Pac West Conference foe Fresno Pacific University Saturday at 7 p.m.
