SEASIDE, Calif. —
The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team as just one Otter ended the night in double figures in Saturday night's 64-50 loss to Cal State San Bernardino in the Kelp Bed.
For the second consecutive night, CSUMB was out scored in three of the four quarters as they won the fourth 15-11. However, it was too little too late as the Coyotes extended their lead to as many as 17 in the fourth, creating an insurmountable lead. The Otters shot just 29.2% (19-65) and 26.3% (5-19) from three point land.
THE GAME WAS STATISTICALLY OVER WHEN… Despite being down 17 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Otters were not 100% out of the game until there was 53 seconds remaining on the clock.
Aubri Smith (Ventura, Calif.) put up an unsuccessful layup attempt and with the CSUSB rebound, sealed the deal on the game with the Coyotes up by 12.
I'LL HANDLE THIS: A night after tying a CSUMB record with seven made three pointer,
Victoria Dorn (Marina, Calif.) led the Otters in three pointers made tonight as well. In fact, of the five made threes by CSUMB, Dorn contributed four.
Brianna Tucker (San Jose, Calif.) netted the other.
LEADERS OF THE RAFT… POINTS: Dorn -- 16; REBOUNDS:
Courtney Keaton (Los Angeles, Calif.), McKenna Hill (Ventura, Calif.) -- 6; ASSISTS:
Aubri Smith (Ventura, Calif.) -- 6; BLOCKS: Keaton -- 2; STEALS: Tucker, Dorn -- 2.
THEY'VE GOT NEXT… Cal State Monterey Bay hit the road before the holiday break as they head to Stanislaus
State on Dec. 9 and follow it up with a date against Sonoma State on Dec. 10.
GO OTTERS!
