Otters End Weekend Home Stand With Loss to Tritons

Whyte records a record 14 saves

SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team battled the Tritons of UC San Diego on Sunday afternoon at the Otter Sports Complex finishing out its short two-game home stand.

While the Otters were unable to illuminate the scoreboard, the Tritons hung a four spot on the hosts including three goals in the second half en route to 4-0 loss for the Otters.

THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN... UCSD scored its third goal in the 55th minute, putting CSUMB in a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 hole. The fourth goal came with 31 seconds remaining in the game to effectively seal the deal

RECORD BREAKER... Despite the result, CSUMB goalkeeper Victoria Whyte (Lake Travis HS) set a single-game record for saves with 14. Her 14 saves breaks Alyssa Noh's (Aliso Niguel HS) mark of 13 saves which she recorded against Chico State on Sept. 18, 2016.

THEY'VE GOT NEXT... Cal State Monterey Bay will hit the road for the final time this season beginning with Sonoma State on Friday, Oct. 14 at 3:00 p.m.
