PETALUMA, Calif. — On a rainy and windy afternoon at East Washington Park the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team faced off against no. 19 Sonoma State. CSUMB managed four shots against the stingy SSU defense to the Seawolves 31. However, only nine of the SSU shots were on target.
Madison Aguirre (Palo Verde HS) led CSUMB in shots taken with two, while goalkeeper
Victoria Whyte (Lake Travis HS) came away with fives saves. Four different players for SSU found the back of the net in the winning effort.
THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN... Aguirre took both of the Otter shots in the second half and by the time she took her second (69:50) the score had already reached 3-0.
THEY'VE GOT NEXT... The Otters will look to bounce back on Sunday against the Lumberjacks of Humboldt State. The women will have the early time slot this time with kickoff set for 11:30 a.m.
GO OTTERS!
