SEASIDE, Calif. — After giving up an early goal at 11:05 mark to Cal State San Marcos, the Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team had to play from behind on Friday at the Otter Sports COmplex.
At the 29:19 mark,
Nick Stanley (Yucaipa HS) found the equalizer and his first goal of the season on a cross ball from
Michael Maul ( San Ramon Valley HS), knotting the game at 1-1.
However, in the 76th minute, the Cougars netted the heartbreaker and put the score at the eventual final of 2-1.
THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN... CSUMB found its final chance at the 85:35 mark when
Chris Koski (Monte Vista HS) took a corner kick. The Otters were able to get a shot off on the set piece.
Cameron DeJong (Ventura HS) has the teams final shot on a header at the 74:07 mark
OUT SHOT... The shot toal was a bit lopsided witht he Otters in command, 16-9. Even more so in the first half when CSUMB totaled 11 shots to the Cougars 3
THEY'VE GOT NEXT... Cal State Monterey Bay will face off against UC San Diego on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. at the OSC
