SEASIDE, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team faced off against Stanislaus State under a gloomy sky on Thursday afternoon at the Otter Sports Complex.
The Otters came into the game looking to end their season on high note, but the Warriors had other ideas as they netted the games first goal at the 16:37 mark to take a 1-0 lead. Stan State put CSUMB in a deeper hole in the second half as Kirsten Coleman found her seventh goal of the season to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead and eventual win.
THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN... The Otters attempted two shots in the final five minutes of the game of the feet of
Sahana Bojorquez (Spring Valley HS) and
Madison Aguirre (Palo Verde HS) in hopes of a comeback.
SHOT LEADERS... Four Otters took two shots each including Borjorquez. She was joined by
Hannah Kind (Bakersfield Christian High School), Taylor Greenwood (Norco HS) and
Valeria Tellez (Salinas HS).
THEY'VE GOT NEXT... Cal State Monterey Bay will wrap up the 2016 season on Saturday against Cal State East Bay. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m.
