CARSON, Calif. — It looked like the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team was on their way back to the win column after
Mariya Fefilova (Turlock HS) scored her first goal of the season 12:25 into the first half against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday afternoon.
However, the Toros had other plans and to begin the second half, the CSUDH found the equalizer, tying the game at 1–1. The game headed to overtime and Dominguez Hills wasted no time as they netted the golden goal 2:46 into the extra period, giving CSUMB a 2-1 loss to end the road trip
THE GAME WAS OVER WHEN... Sarya Thomas scored the golden goal for the Toros at the 2:46 mark of the first overtime period, ending the game with a 2-1 score
THE LIST GETS LONGER... Fefilova scored her first goal of the season today and becomes the fifth Otter to score this season.
NARROW MARGINS... It was a close game throughout, even on the stat sheet. The Otters were narrowly outshot 6-8 by the Toros and equaled CSUDH in corner kicks at 2-2
HOME SWEET HOME... The Otters will come home after a long four-game road trip. The Otters are unblemished in the comfort of the OSC where they are 3–0.
THEY'VE GOT NEXT... The Otters will finally return home for a two-game home stand beginning with Cal State San Marcos on Friday, October 7 at 3:00 p.m.
