SEASIDE, Calif. -- Trailing after the first half, the Cal State Monterey Bay Men's Soccer team stormed back netting two goals in the second half to secure a 2–1 victory and the best seven–game start in program history.
The Otter surrendered a goal in the fourth minute to the Gators, but from there on the defense held strong, highlighted by
Evan Drake's (Sacramento, Calif./El Camino HS) five saves.
CSUMB was able to get the equalizer on its first penalty kick since 2013.
Chris Koski (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista HS) made easy work of the PK, scoring his first goal since 2013 as well.
Twenty–four minutes later the Otter pulled ahead off of a free kick entry pass from
Nick Stanley (Yucaipa HS) that found
Emmanuel Corona (Los Angeles, Calif./John C. Fremont HS) who was able to tickle the twine and put the Otters ahead for good, 2–1.
The Otters improve to 5–2, 2–1 CCAA. Monterey Bay will play host to Humboldt State next Friday, October 2. Kick off is set for 3 p.m.
GO OTTERS!
