MARINA, Calif. -- Student–Athletes from the Cal State Monterey Bay Volleyball and Men's and Women's Soccer teams volunteered their time on Monday morning to attend Olsen Elementary School in Marina to read stories to the students to promote National Read Across America Day.
The Otters read works from Dr. Seuss as the scholastic celebration coincides with the authors birthday.
The National Education Association is building a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA's Read Across America. Now in its 18th year, this year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources.
