SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- Game two of the Pac West/CCAA Shootout pitted the Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team against Dominican University as the Otters looked to bounce back from the previous nights loss to Academy of Art.
The Otters got off to a quick start and built an eight point lead at 13-5 in the first half. However, the Otters let the Penguins back into it, but held a five point lead at the intermission.
The Otters came out flat in the second half allowing Dominican to come all the way back take the lead. The Penguins outscored the Otters in the second half 58-40 asthe the Penguins would go on to win by a score of 83-73.
Evan Zeller (Mission Viejo HS) led CSUMB in scoring with 19 points, while
Marquise Washington (Los Angeles, Calif./Westchester HS) was a perfect 9–for–9 from the field leading to 18 points.
Ryan Nitz (Rancho Cucamonga HS) chipped in 11 while Dominican's Josh Ramirez led all scorers with 20 points.
CSUMB begins the season 0–2. Monterey Bay will head to San Luis Obispo to take on it's third DI opponent in Cal Poly on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
