SEASIDE, Calif. -- The Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team watched as 8 seniors were recognized Sunday afternoon against Cal State San Bernardino. However, it was not a senior who scored the lone goal for the Otters.
Emmanuel Corona (Los Angeles, Calif./ John C. Fremont HS) had one of his headers blocked early on in the first half, but was able to get his revenge on the CSUSB goalkeeper in the 44th minute. Off of an
Adam Voloder (Sydney, Aust.) corner kick, Corona found the ball and used his noggin to find the back of the net for the fourth time this season.
The 1-0 edge was enough for CSUMB as the defense was able to hold the Coyotes off the board.
Evan Drake (Sacramento, Calif./El Camino HS) recorded his fourth shutout of the season and the 14th of his record setting career.
CSUMB moves to 8-7, 5-6 CCAA. Monterey Bay will need a win to stay in playoff contention against Chico State on Thursday. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
GO OTTERS!
