Otters Surrender Early Goal; Lose 1-0 to Broncos

Porteous leads Otters with 2 shots

SEASIDE, Calif. -- The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team battled with Cal Poly Pomona on Friday afternoon, and found themselves down early. The Broncos put the Otters in an early hole in which they would not be able to climb out of, falling 0-1 to CPP.

While the Otters outshot the Broncos, Pomona's Sydney Yates was the one to find the back of the net in the eighth minute. For the next 82 minutes, the Otters had their chances but were unable to convert, bring their two game win streak to halt.

Regan Porteous (Lodi, Calif./St. Mary's HS) led the Otters with two shots. Goalkeeper Victoria Whyte (Austin, Texas/Lake Travis HS) made one save.

CSUMB falls to 5-10-1, 2-7-1 CCAA. Monterey Bay will play its final home game of 2015 on Sunday against Cal State San Bernardino. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m.
