SEASIDE, Calif. -- The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team earned its first CCAA win of the season with a 2–0 win over the Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday at the Otter Sports Complex. The two goals would be more than enough as the defense was strong in the shutout, led by goalkeeper
Victoria Whyte (Austin, Texas/Lake Travis HS) with four saves in the game.
A mere 2:38 into the game,
Regan Porteous (Lodi, Calif./St. Mary's HS) put CSUMB on the board with her fourth goal of the season. Fellow senior,
Kristen Womack (Roseville, Calif./Woodcreek HS) followed suit in the second half as she scored her sixth goal of the season. Womack's goal put the Otters up by the eventual final of 2–0.
The Otters shutout their opponent for just the second time this season. They beat Fresno Pacific by the identical score of 2–0 back on September 23.
?CSUMB moves to 4-9-1, 1-6-1 CCAA. Monterey Bay will continue their four game home stand on Sunday when Cal State L.A. comes to town. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
GO OTTERS!
