SAN MARCOS, Calif. -- For the first time in program history, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team matched up against CCAA newcomer Cal State San Marcos on Sunday afternoon at the Cougars' Den.
CSUSM scored early on at the 14:43 mark of the first half, followed by stout defense. CSUMB managed to get five shots off, three of which were on target.
Regan Porteous (Lodi, Calif./St. Mary's HS) and,
Amanda Guerrero (San Diego, Calif./Granite Hills HS) led the Otters in total shots with two each.
Goaltender
Victoria Whyte (Austin, Texas/Lake Travis HS) saved two balls in the loss.
CSUMB falls to 3–9–1, 0–6–1 CCAA. Monterey Bay will return to the confines of the Otters Sports Complex for four consecutive home games, beginning with Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
