LA JOLLA, Calif. -- Despite scoring twice in the first half, the Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team was held scoreless in the final 45 minutes, while surrendering two goals to fall to UC San Diego by a score of 3-2 on Friday night in La Jolla.

Emmanuel Corona (Los Angeles, Calif. / John C. Fremont HS) scored his third goal of the season on a header in the 15th minute to put the Otters ahead 1-0. The Tritons, however, found the equalizer just 18 minutes later.
Closing out the first half on a high note,
Adam Voloder (Sydney, Australia) netted his first collegiate goal giving CSUMB the 2-1 edge heading into the intermission.
In the second half, CSUMB came out flat, allowing UCSD the score the second tying goal seven minutes into the half. Later, UCSD's Brandon M. Magpayo scored his second goal of the match and gave the Tritons the lead and eventual 3-2 win.
Jorge Herrera (San Jose, Calif. / Leland HS) led the Otters in shots with two, while
Evan Drake (Sacramento, Calif./El Camino HS) recorded three saves.
CSUMB moves to 7-3 and 4-2 CCAA. Monterey Bay will battle with CCAA newcomer Cal State San Marcos on Sunday at 2 p.m.
