Otters Outshoot Tritons But Fall 1-0

CSUMB held an 18-6 shot advantage over UCSD

BOX SCORE LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team outshot host UC San Diego, 18-6, but lost a 1-0 decision to the Tritons Sunday afternoon at Triton Soccer Stadium.

The Otters slip to 6-8-2 overall and 5-7-2 in conference action while the Tritons improve to 6-5-5, 5-4-5 in CCAA play.

UCSD's Jessica Dang nabbed her second goal of the season in the 54th minute on a pass from Kiera Bocchino.

Sophomore Regan Porteous (Lodi/St. Mary's HS) led all Otters with four while junior Jami Murray (Newbury/City College of San Francisco) and Hannah Cobb (Hollister/San Benito HS) tallied three apiece.

For the eighth consecutive game, CSUMB held an advantage on corner kicks by racking up a 7-2 edge.

CSUMB wraps up its road schedule on Friday, Nov. 1, traveling to San Francisco State to face the Gators at 3 p.m.
