BOX SCORE SEASIDE, Calif. – In a game that saw both teams notch 11 shots and exchange momentum, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team just couldn't finish while the No. 10 Cal State Stanislaus nabbed a 2-0 win Friday at the Otter Sports Complex.
 
With the win, the CCAA North Division-leading Warriors improved to 10-0-2 overall and 8-0-2 in conference while the Otters dropped to 5-5-2 and 4-4-2 in CCAA play.
 
Stanislaus' Karenee Demerey recorded her NCAA leading 16th goal in the 15th minute on a lead pass from Tina Benson. 
 
The Warriors scored an insurance goal in the 42nd minute on a Jordan Moineau header.
 
CSUMB goalkeeper 
Lily Garza made only had two saves according to the stats but they were big ones for the Otters. In the 58th minute, she came flying out and stripped Demerey of the ball. Garza's second save came in the 81st minute when she leaped up and snatched the ball off a Emily Relles' header.
 
The Otters best scoring chance came in the 74th minute when sophomore 
Kristen Womack (Roseville/Woodcreek HS) crossed to classmate 
Regan Porteous (Lodi/St. Mary's HS) who shot went off the far post.
 
CSUMB finished with a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Otters return to the field Sunday, Oct. 20 to host Cal State East Bay. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
