SCOUTING CAL STATE DOMINGUEZ HILLS:  The Toros have gone on a bit of a downward spiral since upseting then No. 13 Cal State Stanislaus on Sept. 7, dropping three straight games by 1-0 decision. Key Players: JR Claudia Toledo (3G) and JR Olivia Patterson (2A).

LAST MEETING:  The Otters fell 1-0 to the Toros on senior day last year.  After earning its first victory over the Wildcats in program history last Friday, CSUMB hopes to repeat the magic as CSUDH holds a 7-0 series lead.

SCOUTING CAL STATE L.A.:  The Golden Eagles have split their first two weekend of CCAA action capped by a 1-0 victory over travel partner, CSUDH.  Key Players: Heather Williams (2G, 2A), Shereen Khoobbagha (2G, 2A), Megan Ollar (2G, 2A).

LAST MEETING:  In 2011, the Otters had six 1-0 losses, one of them coming against the Golden Eagles.  CSULA leads the series 6-0-1. The Otters best performance came in 2006 with a 1-1 tie at the Otter Sports Complex.

UP NEXT:  The Otters make a stop in Pomona for a match-up against the Broncos (Sept. 28) before finally making the trek home to host Cal State East Bay on Sunday, Sept. 30.

NEXT LEVEL OFFENSE: The theme for 2012 continues to be more of an offensive threat and CSUMB is acheiving just that by matching 2011's goal total of seven in only the first five games.

SECOND IN NATION:  Senior Andrea Davis ranks second in the nation among Division II schools with three game-winning goals, the latest in the 2-1 overtime victory at Chico State on Oct. 14.

NATIONAL RANKINGS:  In the latest NSCAA National Top 25 Poll, three teams represent the CCAA while one squad is receiving votes for the second week in a row. Sonoma State slides into the No. 2 spot after sweeping SF State and Cal Poly Pomona to remain undefeated.  UC San Diego is ninth and Cal State Stanislaus re-enters the poll at No. 21 while Cal State San Bernardino is once again receiving votes.

ANOTHER OTTER HONOR: Freshman Kristen Womack earned the ESPN 630 KIDD Student-Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 10-16. She had a hand in both scores during CSUMB's 2-1 overtime victory over No. 14 Chico State, marking the first win over a nationally-ranked opponent in its eight-plus seasons of NCAA competition.
