SEASIDE, Calif. – Cal State Monterey Bay's Kristen Womack had a hand in both scores during CSUMB's 2-1 overtime victory over No. 14 Chico State, marking the first win over a nationally-ranked opponent in its eight-plus seasons of NCAA competition. Her solid play earned Womack the ESPN 630 KIDD Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
 
Womack's goal in the 26th minute evened the game at one goal apiece.  After Shoshana Wangerin broke down the defense to slip a pass to Womack, the forward cracked a low liner just under the hand of the charging Wildcat keeper. 
 
Seven minutes into the first overtime, Womack attacked with her speed to force the Wildcat keeper to commit before sliding a pass through the box to senior Andrea Davis, who simply redirected it home into the vacant net.
 
In 12 meetings, this was CSUMB's first victory over the Wildcats.
 
The Otters return to action Friday with a 4:30 p.m. kickoff at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
