BOX SCORE TURLOCK, Calif. – After making program history on Friday with an upset over a nationally ranked team, the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team's offensive came to an abrupt halt in Sunday afternoon's 4-0 loss to Cal State Stanislaus at Warrior Stadium.
The Otters (3-2-0, 1-2-0 CCAA) put two of their seven shots on frame but could not find the back of the net.
Stanislaus (5-1-0, 3-1-0 CCAA), meanwhile, put nine of its 21 shots on frame. Sophomore goalkeeper
Kendra Gillio made a season-high four saves for the Otters.
The first half was a battle despite the Warriors taking a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute on Katelyn Nebesnick's goal.
Stanislaus's Allie Dugan scored just six minutes into the second half. Less than 10 minutes later, the scoring duo repeated the sequence two minutes apart to account for the final margin.
The Otters resume their five-game road trip Friday night in Carson to take on the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros. Kickoff will be at 4:30 p.m.
