SCOUTING CHICO STATE:  The No. 14 Wildcats opened CCAA action with a 4-1 loss to Cal State L.A. only to follow it with a 1-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills. Key Players: JR Scottie Walker (2G) and JR Carly Singer (3A).

LAST MEETING:  The Otters fell 1-0 to the Wildcats on Oct. 23, 2011.  Chico State holds a commanding lead in the series at 11-0.  CSUMB went the distance in 2010, taking the Wildcats to double overtime before falling 2-1.

SCOUTING CAL STATE STANISLAUS:  The Warriors dropped out of the NSCAA Top 25 after a 3-1 loss to Cal State Dominguez Hills last weekend.  Stanislaus rebounded with a 4-1 victory over Cal State L.A. two days later.  Key Players: JR Karenee Demery (6G) and SR Alexia Poon (1G, 2A).

LAST MEETING:  The Otters picked up an historic victory in 2011 with its 1-0 shutout at Cal State Stanislaus. The win was the first–ever victory against a ranked opponent for the young CSUMB women's program.

UP NEXT:  The Otters continue their five game road trip with stops at Cal State Dominguez Hills (Sept. 21) and Cal State L.A. (Sept. 23).

OFFENSE ROCKS: The theme for the Otters in 2012 is to be more of an offensive threat and CSUMB continued that despite their recent loss to Sonoma State.  The Otters have racked up 43 shots in 2012.  Under Head Coach Erin Reinke's two-year's of leadership, CSUMB has recorded a total of 82 shots in its first three games. By comparison, from 2005-2010 the Otters only recorded a total of 100 shots in their first three games.

NATIONAL RANKINGS:  In the latest NSCAA National Top 25 Poll, three teams represent the CCAA while two are scratching at the door. Sonoma State leap-frogged into the No. 6 spot. Chico State fell to No. 14, followed by No. 15 UC San Diego.  Cal State Stanislaus and Cal State San Bernardino are receiving votes.

LEADING OFF OTTER HONOR: Midfielder Andrea Davis earned ESPN 630 Student-Athlete of the Week honors (Aug. 26-Sept 2) after assisting the Otters in opening 2012 with two non-conference victories. The senior recorded two goals and an assist to tally five points.
