Women Go Cold In Second Half of 63-50 Loss

Otters score just four points in first 13 1/2 minutes of second half at Humboldt State

ARCATA, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team made just 4-of-26 shots in the second half, letting a halftime lead slip away in a 63-50 upset loss at Humboldt State Saturday in Lumberjack Arena.

CSUMB (14-5, 11-4 CCAA) led 32-31 at the half, but scored just four points over the first 13 1/2 minutes of the second half, allowing Humboldt (14-6, 10-6) to run away with the win. The Lumberjacks led by as many as 23 poitns before the Otters made a late run to make the final a bit more respectable.

Junior guard Stefanie Corgel (Manhattan Beach/UCSB) was the only Otter to reach double figures, finishing with 13 points.

CSUMB returns home to host Cal Poly Pomona Friday in The Kelp Bed. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
