Megan Spoerre stepped into the role of the Otter Dance Team coach in the fall of 2012 after being a member the previous season.
Spoerre began her dancing career at the age of three. Her favorite styles of dance are
jazz, contemporary, and ballet Spoerre attended Deena's Dance Center in Pomona until the age of 11. She was later a member of the drill team at El Roble Intermediate in junior high.
At Claremont High School, Spoerre was selected to the varsity dance team member her freshman year that went on to win the national championship.
Spoerre continued her dance career by taking classes and performing in showcases at Mount San Antonio College.
At the age of 21, Spoerre became a member of Storm Dance All Stars, a professional competition dance team. Storm Dance All Stars won multiple first place honors. She was a member for three years until her move to Monterey to attend CSUMB. In those three years, Spoerre was a ballet and song dance instructor at Attitudes Dance Academy in Walnut.
Kayla McCourt is entering her second season as captain with the Otter Dance Team. She has been a member of the squad for three seasons.
McCourt began her dancing career at the age of three. Her favorite styles of dance are modern, contemporary, and jazz.
McCourt attended Pam Rossi's Dance Ten in Moorpark until college, where she started dancing and performing at Moorpark College. She participated in multiple performances, and choreographed many pieces for those performances. Kayla started performing on a team when she was 12 years old, and competed from the ages of 13 to 18. The team won multiple awards and competed at the national tournament every summer.
In addition to her commitment to the Dance Ten, McCourt was on the Varsity Dance Team at Moorpark High School for four years. After receiving her Associate's Degree from Moorpark College, Kayla transferred to Cal State Monterey Bay.
