SCOUTING CAL STATE STANISLAUS:  The Warriors rank No. 8 in the newest NSCAA national poll, Their single loss of 2012 came by the hands of Cal State Dominguez Hills (Sept. 7) with a 3-1 decision. Stanislaus recorded an upset over then No. 2 Sonoma State on the road on Sept. 23. Keeper Millie Brown has led her squad to six shutouts. Other Key Players: Karenee Demery CCAA leader in goals (12) and points (27);  (2G, 3A, 13 SOG). 
 
SERIES RECORD:  The Warriors hold a 13-2 all-time series lead over the Otters, with a 4-0 win earlier this season.  CSUMB pulled out a dramatic victory at Stanislaus in 2011, upsetting the eventual CCAA Tournament Champions 1-0 on their home field.
 
SCOUTING CHICO STATE:  The Wildcats have lost five of their last six games, beginning when CSUMB earned a 2-1 overtime win in Chico on Sept. 14. All five of their losses were determined by one goal. After playing six of its first eight games at home, Chico State must turn things around by playing five it is next seven away from home. Key Players: Scotie Walker (3G, 1A, 7SOG); Jennie Barto (1G, 2A, 13S).
 
SERIES RECORD:  The Otters broke a Chico State 13-game win streak in their first meeting of 2012. CSUMB snatched its first victory in program history against the Wildcats.
 
UP NEXT:  After a Thursday afternoon match against Humboldt State on Oct. 11; the Otters hit the pavement for their final road trip of 2012.  CSUMB stops at Sonoma State on Oct. 13 before venturing to SF State (Oct. 19) and Cal State East Bay (Oct. 21)
 
HUMBOLDT STATE: Due to violating hazing rules, Humboldt State will not be eligible to compete in CCAA tournament. All games played against HSU will not count in the CCAA standings.
 
NATIONAL RANKINGS:  In the latest NSCAA National Top 25 Poll, three teams continue to represent the CCAA.  Cal State Stanislaus secures the highest spot from the west coast, moving into the eighth spot.  Sonoma State jumps up seven into 20th and UC San Diego drops to No. 17 after a loss and a tie last weekend.
 
REGIONAL RANKINGS:  The Otters continue to make huge strides in 2012, earning their first ever spot in the NSCAA West Regional Rankings the week of Sept. 25. The Otters debut in the No. 8 spot after shutting out Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State L.A. 
 
BEST START EVER:  The Otter are off to their best start in program history, tying the most wins (5) and conference wins (3) record before hitting the halfway mark of the season.

WOUNDED WARRIOR SUNDAY: The Otters will team with The Wounded Warrior Project to recognize several brave members of the Unites State Army and United State Marine Corps wounded in service to our country. Lance Corporal Angel Avila (USMC), Corporal Salvador Leal, Jr. (USA) and Staff Seergeant Juan Orduno (USA) will be in
attendance with family and friends and will be honored in a halftime ceremony. OTTER SOCCER SUNDAY: Sunday's (Sept. 30) games against Cal State East Bay will be the first of three Otter Soccer Sundays for the 2012 season. That means FREE ADMISSION for kids (12 & under) who wear their team jerseys. Kids over 12 years of age who wear their team jerseys will be admitted for just $1. BLUE CRUE TAILGATE: CSUMB Associated Students and the Blue Crue will sponsor a Soccer Tailgate Friday, Oct. 5 when the Otters host Cal State Stanislaus for a men's/women's doubleheader. The event features free food and live music for Blue Crue members. Not a Blue Crue member? No worries. Sign-ups will take place at the event.
