BOX SCORE

SEASIDE, Calif. — The No. 22 ranked Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team held serve with the other five teams atop the California Collegiate Athletic Association standings Friday night, leading the final 35 minutes of a 66–46 win over short–handed Cal State Stanislaus in The Kelp Bed.

CSUMB (12–2, 9–1 CCAA) won its 10th consecutive CCAA home game, maintaining sole possession of second place and keeping pace with No. 1 UC San Diego, a 73–57 winner at Sonoma State. Stanislaus dipped to 5–10 and 2–9 in conference action.

With the Warriors down to seven players due to injuries, it didn't take long for CSUMB to take Friday's game by the scruff
of the neck. The Otters opened their first double-digit lead at 25-15 on a Brittani Jefferson (Palmdale/Quartz Hills HS) layup 11 minutes into the game. The lead was 20 points by halftime and the Warriors never got closer than 18 the rest of the way.

The comfortable win allowed Head Coach Renee Jimenez to use her entire bench. Senior Brandi Stephens (Sacramento/El Camino HS) led a balanced effort with 13 points. Junior guard Danielle Padilla (Salem, Ore./McKay HS) added a season–high nine points while sophomore guard Jenna Bandy (Thousand Oaks HS) came off the bench to lead CSUMB with a career–high eight rebounds.

Jameiz Terrell led Stanislaus with 16 points while Lauren Godde grabbed a game–high 10 rebounds.

CSUMB will try to keep its home streak intact Saturday when it hosts Chico State for a 5:30 p.m. tip. Fans who can't make it to The Kelp Bed can watch and listen online at www.OtterAthletics.com as Kevin Richardson and Patrick Kelley call the action live from courtside.
