Box Score

SEASIDE, Calif. – Sophomores #Davion Berry# and #Brandon Ward# each scored 20 or more points and were perfect at the line, but it was not enough as the Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball fell to Chico State, 73-68, on Saturday night at Acker Gymnasium.

Berry dropped 21 points with a 7-for-7 appearance at the line.  Ward added 20 points, eight coming from the charity stripe, along with four assists. Sophomore #Derrick Anderson# pulled down eight rebounds and freshman #Troy Watkins# contributed seven boards.

The Otters saw their nine-point lead fade away as the Wildcats finished the first half with a 16-7 run to even it out at 32-32 at the break.

The second half had nine lead changes and seven tied scores on top 34 total fouls.  Three Wildcats scored double digits while shooting 40.7 from the field.

CSUMB returns to the Kelp bed on Friday, Jan. 28 to host former national champion Cal Poly Pomona at 7:30 p.m.
