LOS ANGELES
– In less than seven minutes of play, the No. 1 Cal State L. A. Golden Eagles scored three goals against the Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team to take a 3-0 win in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) game on Sunday afternoon.

The CSUMB defense held the top-ranked Golden Eagles scoreless in the first half as the host racked up 11 shots.

CSULA's Brennen Brodersen's penalty kick was good after CSUMB goalkeeper #Sam Campanelli# received a yellow card, giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage at the 67th minute mark.  Less than a minute later, Julian Ringhof's header found the back of the net.  The scoring campaign ended in the 73rd minute when Taylor Rivas headed in the ball off a corner kick by Osvaldo Lopez.

The Otters return home on Friday, Sept. 24 to host UC San Diego at 3 p.m. at the Otter Soccer Complex.
