CSUMB Draws Tie Against Cal State Stanislaus

SEASIDE, Calif.
– Sophomore #Beau Villanueva#'s penalty kick goal lead the Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team to a 1-1 tie against Cal State Stanislaus on Sunday afternoon. 

The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute when Terry Gross launched the ball to the center of the goal on a cross by Victor Regalado.

In the 76th minute, Stanislaus's goalkeeper Bill Hambelton drew a yellow inside the box to set up for a penalty kick.  Villanueva's shot sailed into the top right corner of the goal.

Junior #Sam Campanelli# recorded eight saves while the CSUMB's defense blocked two shots as the Otter were outshot 11-3 on goal.

The Otters compete at the Home Depot Center next Friday when they match-up against the Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
