SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team fell 65-57 to the Eagles of Cal State L.A. on Saturday night at the Otter Sports Center.

Senior #Sean Jergo# led the Otters with 16 points, connecting on 8-of-10 from the charity stripe.  Freshman #Derrick Anderson# chipped in 10 points while classmate #Brandon Ward# dished out four assists. Freshman #Davion Berry# added nine points and three assists.

The Otters trailed 39-25 at the half time break.

The Eagles led by as many as 16 points at the beginning of the second half, but the Otter fought back and cut that lead to five points with 4:18 on the clock.

The Eagles scored back-to-back baskets to get a nine-point cushion, 61-52, with just under two minutes remaining.

A Ward 3-pointer followed with two free throws by Berry cut brought the score to 61-47 with 35 seconds on the clock.

CSULA made four free throws to clinch the 65-57 victory.

Each team recorded 33 rebounds, but the Otters finished with 17 turnovers and only four steals.

The Otters return to the court on Friday, Feb. 19 to take on Cal State East Bay at 7:30 p.m.
