CSUMB Drops Final Game Of 2010

POMONA, Calif.
- The Cal State Monterey Bay men's basketball team fell, 75-65, to the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos on Thursday night at Kellogg Gym.

The Otters drop to 4-5 overall and 2-3 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) while the Broncos (4-4, 1-3 CCAA) picked up their first conference victory of the season.

Sophomore #Davion Berry# had a game-high 23 points, going 11-for-13 from the free throw line. Senior #Ian Hosford# added 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots. 

The Broncos took their largest lead of the game in the 10th minute on a jumper by Michael Anderson.

CPP took a 44-27 advantage into the locker room.

The Otters stepped up their game late in the second half with an 8-0 run with two free throws by Berry and a 3-pointer from #Derrick Anderson#. The run was capped with Berry's a field goal and free throw for an old fashioned 3-pointer.

CSUMB was out-shot from the field (49.0 to 40.7) but posted strong numbers from the 3-point land with a 42.9 percentage (6-for-14) while holding the Broncos to 8.3 percentage (1-for-12).

The Otters will look for revenge against the Gators of San Francisco State on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m.  Earlier this season, CSUMB fell to SF State, 78-75, at the Kelp Bed.
