CHICO, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team fell to the Wildcats of Chico State, 71-44, on Friday night at Acker Gym.

CSUMB (11-5, 7-5 CCAA) and Chico State (10-7, 7-5 CCAA) along with Cal State San Bernardino are now in a three-way tie for fourth in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings.

Senior guard #Helen Suarez# led the Otters with 15 points with junior #Michelle Santizo# adding nine points. Junior #Julie Heurung# and Santizo pulled down a team-high six points. 

The Otters shot a season-low 25.0 percent from the field as the Wildcats posted 41.2 percent.

The Wildcats had three players in double-digits and were led by Natasha Smith with 21 points.  Pauline Ferrall notched 15 points and 12 rebounds while Melissa Richardson added 11 points.

The Otters head west to Turlock on Saturday, Jan. 30 to take on Cal State Stanislaus at 5:30 p.m.
