THE SOPHOMORE SUCCESS
Shea Olds, the sophomore catcher from Long Beach, Calif. is continuing to build her stats at Cal State Monterey Bay. Olds is currently on a 18-game hitting streak, batting an overall percentage of .404 in the CCAA. Starting 52 out of the 54 games this season, Olds has tallied 61 hits, scored 21 runs, batted in 39 of her teammates, hit five doubles, and blasted her 12th homerun of the season against Chico State on April 11. Olds' determination to excel does not stop at the softball field. Majoring in Kinesiology and serving as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Olds undoubtedly has the system down when it comes to balancing academics along with sports.
