SEASIDE, Calif. – Junior #Lucia Rodriguez# and sophomore #Shae Olds# both scored game-winning home runs to lift the Cal State Monterey Bay softball team to a twinbill victory and a six-game sweep, a program first, against the Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes on Sunday at Otter Softball Field. The Otters pulled off a 4-3 comeback in game one and took a 1-0 victory in the nightcap.
In the opener, the Otters outhit the Coyotes by a narrow margin, 6-5. Rodriguez belted a 2-run homer in the bottom of the sixth after senior #Ashlee Trotter# recorded a single to left field to lead off the inning.
#Jessica Boyle# picked up her third win of the year, fanning three batters in two innings of relief. Cassidy Lee took the loss for CSUSB.
The lone run in the nightcap came from Olds, the leadoff batter in the fourth inning, to clinch the shutout victory.
Freshman #Jessica Moon# pitched 6.2 innings, struck out two and allowed only four hits, for her first collegiate victory. Boyle earned her third save of the season.

The Otters (13-11-1, 9-3 CCAA) are back on the road next weekend, traveling to Rohnert Park to compete in the Seawolves Invitational. CSUMB opens up against Sonoma State on Friday, March 13. CSUMB will also be competing against Chico State and No. 21 Grand Canyon.
