COMMENTS BY COACH KENNEY:

On HSU games: “The games at Humboldt were amazing, it is hard to believe that we hit 14 homeruns in four games and went 1-3 on the weekend. I am proud of our team's performance against the No. 5 team in the nation.”

On upcoming games: “Sonoma State is a very hot team right now. I anticipate a hard fought four-game series.”

OTTERS RECORD BOMBS BEHIND THE PLATE:

CSUMB marked another section in the softball history books. The Cal State Monterey Bay softball team recorded 14 home runs this past weekend in their two-day series against the No. 5 team in the nation, Humboldt State. Six of those home runs were sent out of the park on Saturday, March 21, that propelled the Otters to a 14-6 nightcap victory over the Jacks, preventing a conference series sweep in Arcata. Seven Otters tallied home runs, junior Niki Ames and sophomore Shae Olds each had three a piece. Senior third baseman, Ashlee Trotter, hit two homers which boosted her career numbers to 29. Despite going 1-3 for the weekend, CSUMB had a higher batting average against HSU (.347) and out hit their opponent 43 to 30.
