The Otters return to CCAA play this weekend, traveling to Arcata for a six-game series against the Lumberjacks.
NEXT WEEK:
CSUMB returns home to host the Seawolves of Sonoma State on March 27 & 28.
SCOUTING THE LUMBERJACKS:
Humboldt State (18-6, 11-5 CCAA) has won eight of their last 10 games and is in second place in the CCAA standings, behind the Otters who are in first place. The Lumberjacks have seven players hitting above .300, four of whom are hitting over .400. After going 14-for-26 with a .538 BA, including four doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI in eight games last week, Marissa Slattery was named the Worth/CCAA player of the week

RODRIGUEZ EARNS SECOND CCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Cal State Monterey Bay's #Lucia Rodriguez# was named the Worth/California Collegiate Athletic Association's Softball Player of the Week for the week of March 2-8. It marks the second time this season that Rodriguez has been honored. The junior outfielder from Rialto, Calif. helped the Otters complete a six-game sweep of Cal State San Bernardino. Over the six games, Rodriguez batted .474 (9-for-19) with six runs scored, eight RBI, two doubles and three home runs. She recorded a 1.053 slugging percentage and .474 on-base percentage. During four CCAA games, Rodriguez hit .462 (6-for-13) with four runs scored, a double, two home runs and six RBI. Rodriguez leads the conference in home runs (6), runs scored (15) and total bases (53). “Lucia has been incredible this season,” said Otters head coach
Andrea Kenney. “She is solid on defense and at the plate. Another great product from Kelly Ford and the Mt Sac Junior college program.”
