SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker on Saturday, falling to the Seawolves of Sonoma State, 52-51, at the Otters Sports Center.
The Otters drop to 9-11 overall and 4-10 in CCAA action.
Senior #Dana Andrews# led the Otters with 12 points and nine rebounds. Senior #Aly Tsuchiyama# tied a career-high with nine rebounds. Freshman #Devin Riezebos# added 10 points.
After eight lead changes and four tied scores, the Seawolves took a 26-23 lead into the locker room.
Andrews scored the Otters first six points of the half to tie the game at 29-29. SSU's Lauren Redfield laid it up for a basket to take back the lead at 31-29.

Denelle Baker made a 3-pointer to tie it up once again at 32-32.
Marie Sweet's trey and a jumper by Conway gave the Seawolves a 37-32 lead. At 5:33, Baker hit a three to tie the game once again, 46-46. junior #Helen Suarez#'s jumper at 3:57 gave the Otters their first lead of the half.
Three made free throws gave the lead back to the Seawolves, 49-48, with 3:06 remaining. Both teams were unable to score for two minutes until Redfield hit the backend of her free throw to raise the Seawolves lead to 50-48.
On the Otters next possession, Suarez connected on a 3-pointer at the top of the key as the Otters went on top with 38.4 seconds remaining.
Sweet made a second chance basket to give the Seawolves the victory at 52-51.
The Otters won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Seawolves 32-24, but turnovers haunted CSUMB as they totaled 14 on the night.
The Otters are continuing their four-game homestand next Friday, welcoming Cal State Dominguez Hills to the Kelp Bed. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m.
