SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team dropped a 78-56 decision to Humboldt State on Friday at the Otter Sports Center.
The Otters fall to 9-10 overall and 4-10 in CCAA action. HSU improved to 14-6 and 9-4 in the CCAA.
Junior #Helen Suarez# led the Otters with 14 points and three steals. Junior #Janet Oseguera# recorded a team-high seven rebounds while scoring 12 points. Senior #Dana Andrews# added 11 points and was perfect at the charity stripe, going 8-for-8.
The Lumberjacks jumped out to quick 19-4 lead after an 11-0 run.

Lindsay Trout sunk a 3-pointer at 11:25 to break the Jacks run.
HSU took a 38-23 lead into the intermission, forcing 14 turnovers by the Otters.
Suarez opened the first half with a 3-pointer from the baseline. The teams traded baskets before the Jacks went on a 7-0 run to 49-28.
The Jacks were led by Katie Franci with 18 points and seven rebounds.
The Otters host Sonoma State on Saturday at the Otter Sports Center. Earlier this year, CSUMB defeated the Seawolves, 61-57.
