SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay softball team kicked-off their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) schedule with a sweep against the Gators of San Francisco State. The Otters took the opener 10-0 in five innings and posted a come-from-behind 5-3 victory in the nightcap.

The Otters improve to 4-8-1 overall and 2-0 in CCAA play.

In game one, #Caydi Dommeyer# (2-5, 2 RBI, 1 R), #Rachelle Morales# (2-3, 1 H), #Ashlee Trotter# (2-3, 1 R) and #Shelair Rowell# (2-4, 1 R) each recorded two hits. Lucia Rodriguez hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

Trotter and Rodriguez joined #Jennifer Montez# with two hits apiece in the nightcap. 

"It all came together today as we played solid defense, hit the ball hard and had strong pitching performances," said Otters head coach Andrea Kenney. " I am happy with the results."

The Otters return to the field on Saturday, Feb. 21 for a doubleheader against the Gators.  First pitch is at 12:00 p.m.
