SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team dropped a 69-48 decision to the Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday at the Otters Sports Center.

With the loss, the Otters fall to 9-12 overall and 4-11 in CCAA action.

Senior #Dana Andrews# and junior #Helen Suarez# led the Otters with 11 points apiece. Senior #Aly Tsuchiyama# pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

The Otters came out strong taking a quick 5-0 lead on trey by Suarez and two free throws by freshman #Janet Oseguera#. The Toros tied it, 7-7, at 14:26 and closed off the first half with a 25-5 run over the Otters. 

CSUMB completed a strong defensive sequence with four steals in a three-minute span that resulted in seven points for the Otters.

Senior Brittney Blankenship and sophomore Neka Mixon led the Toros with 16 points each.

CSUMB hosts Cal State L.A. on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 5:30 p.m. The Otters will attempt a series sweep of the Eagles after a CSUMB 61-59 victory in Los Angeles on Jan. 9.
