SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team dropped its first game of the 2009-10 season, falling to Chico State on Saturday night at the Otter Sports Center.
Senior #Veronica Williams# led the Otters with 11 points and five rebounds with junior #Michelle Santizo# adding nine points and three steals.
The Wildcats took a 37-23 advantage at the half.
The Wildcats were led by Christine Vest with 15 points, shooting 6-for-7 from the field. Melissa Richardson and Pauline Ferrall each added 11 points.
The Otters shot only 28.6 percent from the field while Chico State shot 58.7.
CSUMB hosts San Francisco State on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
