SAN FRANCISCO – Junior #Jessica Pardo# scored her first collegiate goal and then followed it up with a game winner to lift the Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory over the Gators of San Francisco State on Sunday afternoon at Cox Stadium.
“Pardo scored a word class goal to tie and a first class free kick to win the game,” said head coach #Artie Cairel#. “She was incredible today. Moving her into midfield allowed her skills to shine.
“The girls deserved the finish and this was a great final road trip for the seniors.”
The Gators got on the board in the 18th minute when junior Sara Ordaz scored from outside the box to give SF State the 1-0 lead.
Pardo scored the game-tying goal from 25-yards out with just nine minutes left in regulation.
With only 48 seconds left on the clock in overtime, Pardo blasted a free kick from 20-yards out to give the Otters the 2-1 victory and avenge Friday's 2-1 double overtime loss to the Gators in Seaside.
The Otters were outshot by SF State 14-12, but were equal by each recording two shots in overtime. Freshman goalkeeper
Andrea Davis collected four saves, maintaining her conference lead with 89 for the season.
