SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team played to a scoreless double-overtime tie with the Humboldt State Lumberjacks on Sunday afternoon in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchup at Otter Soccer Complex.
The Otters are now 3-10-3 overall and 2-8-2 in conference play while the Lumberjacks move to 7-7-2, 4-6-2 CCAA.
The Otters recorded their third double-overtime draw of the season. Freshman goalkeeper #Andrea Davis# collected six saves in 110 minutes of action. CSUMB totaled 12 shots in the game with HSU finishing with 14.
Tying a season best, seven different CSUMB starters recorded shots on goal; #Sarah Alderson#, #Marlina Massagli#, #Gabriella Bozzo#, #Kyla Flores#, #Jessica Pardo#, #Makayla Whitney# and #Alyssa Matheson#.
“With every point the players are growing in confidence,” said head coach #Artie Cairel#. “They are coming together and playing some good soccer. They are now expecting to get 3 points in every game which is a good sign for the rest of the season and continued growth as a unit.
