SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Chico State this afternoon at the Otter Soccer Complex. The Otters dropped to 1-8-1 (0-6 CCAA) as the Wildcats improve to 5-4-2 (1-2-2 CCAA).
Ten minutes into the game, the Wildcats took a 1-0 lead when senior Abby Stretch played a long ball that senior Melissa Lindsay met with a header that found that back of the net.
Chico State added to their lead in the 74th minute with another header. Stretch connected on a cross by freshman Jaclyn Thomas.
The Otters rallied with a goal less than a minute later. Junior #Sara Alderson# scored off a rebound from the post on a direct kick by #Alyssa Matheson#.
The Wildcats outshot CSUMB, 13-8.
CSUMB travels to Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, Oct. 3 to continue its CCAA schedule. Kick-off is at 12:30 p.m.
