SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Cal State Stanislaus this afternoon at the Otter Soccer Complex.
Cal State Stanislaus senior Melissa Phillips scored on a penalty kick to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead twenty-minutes into the game.
Five minutes later, the Warriors added to their lead when sophomore Lisa Garcia drilled the ball over Otter freshman goalkeeper #Stephanie Husted#. Senior Rachel Mathews was credited with the assist.
The Otters outshot the Warriors 11-8 in the first half but were only registered two shots in the second half.
The Warriors added two more goals after the halftime break. Freshman Marissa Dunaway scored her sixth goal of the season and Phillips notched her second goal of the game in the 68th minute.
Sophomore #Carrie LaPonza# lead the team with four shots on goal and Husted notched eight saves in goal.
CSUMB (1-8-1, 0-5 CCAA) hosts Chico State on Sunday, Sept. 28. Kick-off is at 11:30 a.m.
