SEASIDE, Calif. – In a game that featured both squads combining for 52 fouls, 33 of which came in the second half, the Cal State Monterey Bay men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to UC San Diego on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Otters Soccer Complex.
The Tritons scored on their first shot of the game by Scott MacBride during the 11th minute.
Senior #Nick McGill# scored the Otters first goal of the season on a shot from 10 yards out. Senior #Dexy Gaudion# and junior #Mario Khoury# each recorded an assist on the goal.
At the 37th minute, Triton sophomore Aaron McDowell broke the 1-1 tie on a rebounded shot off the post.
CSUMB outshot the Tritons in the first half (8-6) but UCSD led in the overall stat (11-10).
The Otters compete in their first night game of the season in Arcata, Calif. on Friday, Sept. 14. CSUMB pairs up against Humboldt State University for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.
