SEASIDE --- A big early lead led to a lopsided result for the Cal State  Monterey Bay women's basketball team, which wrapped up its season Thursday night with a 74-50 loss to visiting UC San Diego.

UCSD jumped out to an early 23-6 lead before a #Jessica Harris# jumper snapped the Tritons' 16-point run. The Otters, however, were not able to close the gap and trailed 45-27 at halftime. CSUMB made a run to start the second half to cut the gap to 15 and got within 10, trailing 46-55 with 6:14 left in the contest.

But the Tritons would score the next 13 points and by the time CSUMB scored again the Otters were down 48-68 with 2:25 left. Michelle Osier led the Tritons with 24 points and 17 rebounds. #Alma Lopez# led the Otters with 13.

Rebounds were the big story in the game. The Tritons pulled down 61 boards, more than twice as many as CSUMB, which had 26. Lopez had nine rebounds to lead CSUMB.

UCSD improved to 21-8 overall and 13-6 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Otters finish their season at 3-24 and 2-18.
