SEASIDE --- San Francisco State defeated the Cal State Monterey Bay women's basketball team 95-79 Wednesday night at the Otter  Sports Center.

CSUMB (3-23 overall and 2-17 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association) had an outstanding game from #Alma Lopez#, who scored a career high 33 points to lead all players. She also had eight rebounds and five assists. #Dana Andrews# chipped in 18 points for the Otters, but four Gators scored in double figures, including a 30-point night by Brio Rode, a career high. Morgan Aycox came off the SFSU bench to score 16 and make eight rebounds.

SFSU (14-12, 11-8) led 57-40 at halftime and led by more than 30 in the second half before CSUMB narrowed it a bit. Andrews scored 11 of her points with less than nine minutes left in the game. The Gators shot 54.7 percent from the floor compared to the Otters' 43.5 percent.

CSUMB plays UC San Diego Thursday night. The game tips off at the Otters Sports Center at 5:30 p.m.
