TURLOCK, Calif. --- #Angela Cabral# pitched a complete game and allowed just one run to lead the Cal State Monterey Bay softball to a victory in its first game of the season, a 3-1 victory over Chico State on Friday.

Shortstop #Alixis Villarin#, batting ninth, went two for three with a run and an RBI. #Easton Henrikson#, playing first and batting eighth, also went two for three and scored a run. #Megan Luna# (1 for 2) and #Homa Shafii# (1 for 2) had the other two RBIs for the Otters. Chico had nine hits to the Otters' six, but couldn't get the big hit when needed. Cabral struck out five and walked two.

The Otters took the lead for good in the sixth Henrikson lead off with a triple and Villarin knocked her in. Luna later doubled to score Villarin. The team is competing in the Mizuno Best of the West Invitational at CSU Stanislaus in Turlock, Calif.
