CSU Monterey Bay Athletics

Prior to joining the staff at CSUMB, Zitlau served as the assistant athletic director of administration at San Diego State University for seven years. In that role, he directed and managed all business and financial operations for the athletics department. While at SDSU, Zitlau served as the tournament manager for the 2001 and 2006 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First & Second Rounds in San Diego and 2001 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship in San Diego.

Prior to his tenure with SDSU, Zitlau spent eight years as the assistant athletic director of business and event operations at his alma mater, San Jose State University. With the Spartans, Zitlau managed the day-to-day business operations of the athletics department as well as directed game management for all sporting events.

As a collegiate student–athlete, Zitlau was a three-time letterwinner in men’s gymnastics for the Spartans. He earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from San Jose State.
