Rheann Fall 2013 Mug Shot

Rheann Fall

After a stellar playing career in which she became the first All–American volleyball player in Cal State Monterey Bay history, Rheann Fall continues her climb up the coaching ladder by being named CSUMB’s top assistant coach in August.

“I’m excited to continue to be a part of the CSUMB Volleyball program and I am so grateful to Jody for giving me this opportunity,” says Fall. “Coaching is a career goal. Working more closely with Jody Garry will help prepare me to successfully run a volleyball program when I am head coach one day.”

Fall ended her prolific playing career as the Otter all–time leader in kills (1,454), attacks (4,363), aces (132), and points (1,666.0). She owns all of those records to this day. She was a two–time first team All–CCAA selection and an AVCA All–American in 2010.

On the sidelines, she has spent the past four years as a coach with the Carmel Beach Volleyball Club and also served as the freshman team coach at Salinas High School. She was a graduate assistant with the Otters last season.

“Rheann has been pursuing coaching for several years now, coaching club since her sophomore year and volunteering with us since she took  the graduate assistant coach position,” says Garry. “She left her mark here as a student–athlete, is on board with my vision for the program and knows my expectations for the team on and off the court.”

Fall, who earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from CSUMB in 2012, is working on her master’s in athletic administration from Ohio University.
